Slimming World West Moors - 29th January 2024

Going for Bust Support Centre have been presented with a donation of £346.00 from Karen who runs Slimming World West Moors.

This amount was raised by the members following their Christmas Raffle.

We would like to thank Karen and all of her Slimming World team for supporting us.

Slimming World Ferndown - 17th January 2024

Going for Bust Support Centre have been presented with a donation of £343.00 from Zoe who runs Slimming World Ferndown.

Southampton Hospital - 15th January 2024

Going for Bust have donated £9,000 to Southampton Hospital.

Our donation will help to fund Nipple Tattooing.

This is a specialised technique that includes the process of carefully applying colour and shading to the skin to provide a natural look of a nipple.

Nipple Tattooing is an important component of post-mastectomy reconstruction. It can help women feel confident and support mental wellness.

Bournemouth Hospital - 10th January 2024

Going for Bust have helped the Royal Bournemouth Hospital (Jigsaw Unit) with a donation of £15,000.

Our donation will to help towards the funding of a Sonosite Ultrasound Machine.

The machines are used in diagnostic clinics by Breast Cancer clinicians.

They allow clinicians to confidently perform diagnostic exams, locate masses, guide biopsies and initiate a proper course of treatment for each patient.

Poole Hospital - 10th January 2024

Going for Bust have helped Poole Hospital (Dorset Breast Screening Unit) with a donation of £15,000.

Going for Bust Support Centre have been presented with a donation of £150.00 from The Dorset Breast Screening Unit.

The amount was raised during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October and will help towards the running of our Support Centre.

The team also attended our 10th Anniversary Fundraising Gala in November.

Wimborne and District Riding Club - 19th December 2023

Going for Bust Support Centre have received a donation cheque for £2,000 from the Wimborne and District Riding Club.

This was raised from their Annual Charity Sponsored Ride, held at Manor Farm, Gussage All Saints on Sunday 1st October 2023.

It is the 5th year that we have been chosen as the charity they raise funds for at this event.

We would like to thank everyone at Wimborne and District Riding Club for their continued support.

Lewis Manning Hopsice Care - 7th December 2023

Going for Bust have donated £3,500 to Lewis Manning Hospice Care.

Our donation will help to fund a Lymphoedema Deep Oscillation Therapy Machine.

This machine uses vibration to affect the deep tissues in the body with minimal touch. Using the machine alongside lymphatic drainage techniques reduces swelling which in turn reduces patients pain and makes them feel more comfortable.

Our donation will directly fund complimentary therapies for breast cancer patients at Forest Holme, including aromatherapy, reflexology, reiki and EFT.

Going for Bust 10th Anniversary Gala - 13th November 2023

We would like to thank everyone who came along and supported us at our 10th Anniversary Fundraising Gala on Saturday. It was an amazing evening.

Meyrick Park Golf Club Ladies - 14th August 2023

Going for Bust Support Centre have been presented with a donation of £2,644.40.

This amount was raised by the Meyrick Park Golf Club Ladies Group, from their Annual Charity Day held on Thursday 20th July 2023.

The donation will help towards the running of our Support Centre, so we are able to continue offering the services we provide.

Henbury House - 25th July 2023

Going for Bust Support Centre have been presented with a cheque for £425.00.

This amount was raised by Debbie Curry, Debbie Dymond and the Henbury House Gardens Residents Association Ltd following a recent BBQ and Raffle that they held.

The donation will help towards the running of our Support Centre, so we are able to continue offering the services we provide.

Piazzo Lounge - 24th July 2023

Going for Bust Support Centre have been presented with a donation of £1,997.80 from Piazzo Lounge.

This amount was raised during their first month of trading, whereby they donated 20p from every coffee and 50p from every burger sold.

Millfield Residents Association - 28th June 2023

Going for Bust have been presented with a donation of £134.55 from Sandra Allen, Richard Marsh and the Millfield Residents Association.

This amount was raised following Richard's recent birthday party and charity raffle on Saturday 24th June 2023.

The donation will help towards the running of our Support Centre, so that we can continue offering the services we provide.

Forest Holme Hospice - 20th June 2023

Going for Bust have donated £7,500 to Forest Holme Hospice.

Our donation will directly fund complimentary therapies for breast cancer patients at Forest Holme, including aromatherapy, reflexology, reiki and EFT.

Patients with this type of cancer can suffer with hormones due to being put into menopause with drugs, so helping by giving them cooling sprays and inhalers will ease the stress and anxiety this causes.

Stourfield Junior School - 13th June 2023

Stourfield Junior School in Iford have recently raised £194.83 for our Support Centre.

The money was raised by the year 6 classes as part of their charity event. The children made their own products to sell including friendship bracelets and art.

Lewis Manning Hospice - 10th February 2023

Going for Bust have donated £3,544 to Lewis Manning Hospice. The donation will help them to purchase much needed air condition units for their lymphoedema clinic rooms.

Lymphoedema swelling can be very uncomfortable, very tight and heat often makes it much worse with the increased pessure causing a lot of pain.

The air condition units will make such a difference to the comfort of the patients, particularly in the summer months.

Bourne Water Dragons - 30th January 2023

Going for Bust have donated £2,000 to the Bourne Water Dragons.

The donation will help them to buy much needed equipment, including life jackets and advertising material for their dragon boat team.

Dragon Boating is a great form of exercise for those experiencing breast cancer, helping to heal muscles in the upper body and keeping lymphoedema to a minimum.

Poole Hospital - 23rd January 2023

Going for Bust have helped Poole Hospital (University Hospitals Dorset) with a donation of £10,000 to help fund the purchase of a Postural Video Licence for the Radiography Department.

The benefit of the licence is to support the radiographers in setting up patients more efficiently, this means the patients spend less time in the department.

The Radiotherapy Department treats in excess of 550 Breast Cancer Patients per year.

Slimming World West Moors - 18th January 2023

Going for Bust Support Centre have been presented with a donation cheque for £221.00 from Karen Fripp who runs Slimming World in West Moors.

This amount was raised from a Christmas Dinner and Raffle held at the St Leonards Hotel in December.

We would like to thank Karen and all of her Slimming World team for supporting us.

Going for Bust Support Centre have been presented with a donation cheque for £318.50 from Steve Carrington.

This amount was raised from a Sponsored Head Shave at Henlow Church of England Academy School where he works.

The donation will help towards the running of our Breast Cancer Support Centre, so that we can continue offering the services we provide to the local communities in Dorset & Hampshire.

Going for Bust Support Centre have been presented with a donation cheque for £422.60 from Val Drew & Emma Francis.

This amount was raised from a coffee morning and raffle they held at the Three Legged Cross Village Hall on Saturday 3rd December 2022.

The donation will help towards the running of our Breast Cancer Support Centre, so that we can continue offering the services we provide to the local community.

Wimborne Riding Club - 27th November 2022

Going for Bust Support Centre have been presented with a donation cheque for £1,649.25 from the Wimborne and District Riding Club.

This amount was raised from their Annual Charity Sponsored Ride, held at Manor Farm, Gussage All Saints on Sunday 2nd October 2022.

It is the 4th year that we have been chosen as the charity they raise funds for at this event. We would like to thank them for their continued support.

Pom Pom London - 23rd November 2022

Going for Bust have been presented with a donation of £7,310.00 from Pom Pom London.

This amount was raised from the sale of their Limited Edition Pink City & Mayfair Bags during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The donation will help towards the running of our Going for Bust Breast Cancer Support Centre in Wimborne, so that we can continue offering the services we provide to the local community.

Going for Bust Support Centre have been presented with a donation cheque for £500.00 from Co.Mad (Colehill Music & Drama).

This amount was raised from their Annual Pantomime held at the Colehill Memorial Hall in February 2022.

The donation will help towards the running of our Breast Cancer Support Centre, so we can continue offering the services we provide to the local community.

Dorset County Hospital - May 2022

Going for Bust have helped Dorset County Hospital with a donation of £4,000 to purchase a second Lymph Scanner Machine.

Going for Bust funded the purchase of their first scanner back in 2017 and is a very valued piece of equipment used on a daily basis.

By having a second machine it will provide more scope in managing and improving the outcomes of Breast Lymphoedema.

Going for Bust Support Centre have been presented with a donation cheque for £2483.47 from the Wimborne and District Riding Club.

This amount was raised from their Annual Charity Sponsored Ride, held at Manor Farm, Gussage All Saints on Sunday 3rd October 2021.

Waitrose in Wimborne have donated a cheque for £333.00 to our support centre. This is part of their Community Matters Scheme.

During the month for December 2019, Waitrose in Wimborne chose Going for Bust Support Centre as part of its Community Matters Green Token Scheme.

Dorset County Hospital - 17th January 2020

Going For Bust have helped Dorset County Hospital, Dorchester with a donation of £10,000 towards the purchase of a Vacuum Biopsy Machine.

This will allow a quicker, more accurate diagnosis of certain types of Breast Cancer. Dorset County Hospital have to currently send their patients to Poole Hospital for this procedure.

Co-op Wimborne - 22nd November 2019

Going for Bust Support Centre have been presented with a donation cheque of £6,315.29, by the Co-op in Wimborne.

This was raised as part of the Co-op Local Community Fund, where members donate via the money they spend instore to help causes in their local community. We would like to thank them for their support.

Pink Champagne Breast Cancer Dragon Boat Team - 20th November 2019

Going for Bust have donated £2,000 to the Pink Champagne Breast Cancer Dragon Boat Team to help towards the purchase of some new paddles.

The Pink Champagne Dragon Boat Team encourage individuals who have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer to lead an active lifestyle through the sport of Dragon Boat Racing, whilst raising awareness and providing support to team members.

Lounge Hair & Beauty Salon - 28th October 2019

The Lounge Hair & Beauty Salon in Moordown, recently held a Cake/Coffee and Raffle event for Breast Cancer Awareness Day.

They raised an amazing £903.00 and donated this to Going for Bust. We would like to thank Martin and his team for thinking of us.

Poole Hospital - 14th October 2019

Going for Bust have donated £10,000 to the Dorset Breast Screening Unit at Poole Hospital.

This will help the funding of a Faxitron Machine, which will confirm the biopsy procedure with the touch of a button, reducing waiting time and being able to see more patients.

Zumba Event - 12th October 2019

Going for Bust Support Centre have been presented with a donation cheque of £2592.34 from Jane Alexander and Sam Davis.

This amount was raised from a Zumba Event held at the Junction Leisure Centre, Broadstone on Saturday 12th October. We would like to thank them for thinking of us.

Royal Bournemouth Hospital - 10th October 2019

Going for Bust have helped the Royal Bournemouth Hospital (Jigsaw Unit), by donating £10,000 to help support the funding of their Cancer Care Specialist Nurse.

The Cancer Care Nurse will support over 200 patients throughout the year who are undergoing chemotherapy specifically for Breast Cancer.

Adrian James and Dave Broom from St Marks Church in Talbot Village have donated a cheque for £569.00 to the Going for Bust Support Centre in Wimborne.

This was raised from a recent Charity Picnic Event held in the grounds of the church.

Salisbury Hospital - 15th April 2019

Going for Bust have recently helped Salisbury Hospital with a donation of £10,000 towards a Faxitron machine for their breast cancer unit.

This will mean that patients will spend less time in theatre, the number of patients needing secondary operations will be reduced and the faxitron will help produce better images to help the surgeons.

Although Salisbury is not based within our area of Dorset & Hampshire, a good number of breast cancer patients do attend this hospital from those areas.

Lewis Manning Hospice - 4th March 2019

Going for Bust have recently donated £5,000 to Lewis Manning Hospice (Lymphodema Clinic).

This donation will ensure that more patients experiencing breast cancer will get early and intensive treatment for their lymphodema.

Southampton Hospital - 21st January 2019

Going for Bust have recently donated £10,000 to Southampton Hospital, this will help towards a new Faxitron Machine.

This will mean that patients will spend less time under anaesthetic, making their time in hospital shorter. The Faxitron will be used on up to 300 patients per year.

Royal Bournemouth Hospital - 6th December 2018

Going for Bust have recently donated £10,000 to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital (Jigsaw unit) to help support the funding of their cancer care specialist nurse.

The cancer care nurse will support over 200 patients throughout the year who are undergoing chemotherapy specifically for breast cancer.

Going for Bust have donated £1,526.36 to the Bourne Water Dragons. The donation will help them to buy much needed equipment for their dragon boat team.

The Swing Unlimited Big Band held a Party in the Park Event at Highcliffe Castle.

Going for Bust have recently donated £5,000 to Lewis Manning Hospice.

This will help to fund their Lymphoedema Clinics, so they are able to see more patients.

University of Southampton Hospital - 18th April 2018

Going for Bust have donated £10,100 to The University of Southampton Hospital.

This will help to purchase new raised couches, improved privacy curtains and IT in the Breast Assessment Unit, also enhancing the clinical and quiet rooms to make it more welcoming for patients.

Royal Bournemouth Hospital - 27th March 2018

Going for Bust have donated £7,320 to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital Jigsaw Unit. This has funded the purchase of a new Mammography/Biopsy Chair.

The specialised chair is designed to accommodate the growing number of seated mammography and breast biopsy procedures for breast cancer patients. It also assists the treatment and care of an increasing number of older or less mobile patients.

Poole Hospital - 6th March 2018

Going for Bust have donated £10,000 to Dorset Breast Cancer Unit at Poole Hospital.

This will help to fund the purchase of a 2nd Biopsy Machine.

Dorset County Hospital - 31st January 2018

Going for bust have donated £2,650 to Dorset County Hospital Lymphoedema department, to help purchase a lymph scanner.

The Device will enable the accuarate assessment of water content and oedema in the breast, both at the initial assessment and ongoing treatment.

Royal Bournemouth Hospital - 10th June 2017

Going for Bust have donated £23,650 to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. This has enabled them to purchase a new Dose Calibrator for SLN (Sentinel Lymph Node) injections.

This will allow Breast Cancer patients to receive the injections in Bournemouth before their operations, rather than having to visit Poole Hospital for them.

Bosom Pals - 23rd February 2017

Going For Bust have donated £2,100 to Bosom Pals. Bosom Pals is a support group set up for ladies affected by Breast Cancer.

The donation will help to fund events and outings, easing them through their day by day challenges of dealing with this illness.

Lewis Manning Hospice - 22nd February 2017

Going For Bust have donated £4,100 to Lewis Manning Hospice, to help fund the Physiotouch Machine in their Lymphodema Clinic.

The equipment aims to reduce swelling, pain and improve the range of motion patients can achieve; particularly helpful to Breast Cancer patients.

Fishing 4 Life - 1st February 2017

Going For Bust have donated £1,500 to Fishing 4 Life.

This will help to fund events for their members who have suffered from or have been through the diagnosis and treatment of Breast Cancer.

Forest Holme Hopsice - 30th January 2017

Dorset Breast Screening - 25th February 2016

Going For Bust donated £2,420 to Dorset Breast Screening at Poole Hospital.

This will help to purchase two new couches for their ultrasound machines, which are used for breast screening and symptomatic patients.

Lewis Manning Hospice - 23rd January 2016

Going For Bust donated £1,000 to Lewis Manning Hospice.

This will help towards medical supplies, such as bandages, sleeves and dressings used for patients in their lymphoedema clinic.

Broadstone Shop - 6th January 2016

Going For Bust started 2016 by opening its eighth shop, located in Broadstone.

 

Poole Hospital - 3rd December 2015

Going For Bust donated £4,000 to Dorset Breast Screening Unit at Poole Hospital, which will help towards the purchase of a license for the Tomosynthesis (Tomo) Biopsy Unit.

This enables them to take samples of areas only seen on Tomo - a special mammogram that takes picture slices through the breast and can pick up more and smaller cancers.

South West Fishing 4 Life 1st December 2015

Going For Bust donated £1,500 to South West Fishing 4 Life, a fishing club set up for people who have suffered or are living with breast cancer.

Our donation will help to fund essential fishing equipment in order that this support group can enjoy a relaxing experience at their meetings.

Forest Holme Hospice - 12th November 2015

Going For Bust donated £2,000 to Forest Holme Hospice, towards life enhancing equipment for their patients.

Our donation will help to fund the Thor Laser for the Lymphoedema clinic based at the Poole Hospice and benefit patients by easing their pain and discomfort and improving their quality of life.

Michelle's Birthday - 8th October 2015

Michelle Ormston, our development co-ordinator at Going for Bust, celebrated her 40th birthday with a party.

During the evening, a collection was made where £135.74 was raised towards the fight against breast cancer.

Royal Bournemouth Hospital - 8th September 2015

Going For Bust presented a cheque for £10,000 to the new Jigsaw Women's Health Unit at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.

This donation will contribute towards a vital piece of equipment used in the early diagnosis of Breast Cancer.

Dragon Boat Ladies - 19th Jan 2015

Karen and Jan from the Verwood Branch of Going for Bust presented The Dragon Boat Ladies with new buoyancy aids.

These will help them stay safe as they keep themselves fighting fit, after surviving Breast Cancer.

Poole Hospital - 21st Sept 2014

Going For Bust donated £2,000 for the Dorset Breast Screen Unit at Poole Hospital.

These funds will contribute to the cost of a new, urgently needed specialized Biopsy Chair.
